Foam Roof Repair – Ohio

spray-foam-roofing-contractor-ohioSpray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) roofing systems are one of the most durable and long lasting solutions for commercial roofs. If your commercial roof is having problems – cracking, constant leaks, storm damage, etc. – consider a SPF repair job. To demonstrate the durability of SPF roofs, consider this example:

Say a severe storm causes a tree to fall on the roof of your building. A large branch punctures your roof. It’s raining, perhaps snowing or hailing as well. With a traditional roofing system, your building’s floor will be flooded within hours. All that precipitation is falling right through that puncture and into your workspace. With foam roofs, punctures are self-contained. The damage won’t spread across the roof creating additional problems, nor will the thick layer of foam allow a puncture to go clear through your roof. This is due to the tight-knit, dense configuration of polyurethane foam roof systems. By localizing damage, you can save yourself a huge headache and massive repair bills.

What’s more, spray polyurethane foam can be applied to almost all roof surfaces and can correct pre-existing damaged substrate.

Additional Advantages of An SPF Roofing System

In addition to the foam’s closed-cell insulation system resulting in the localization of damage, SPF roofing systems have many more benefits:

  • The foam prevents outside air, cold or hot, from entering your building – we call this air infiltration. This is the main reason for high A/C and heating costs.
  • The top layer of SPF roofing systems repels 85% of the sun’s UV rays which further helps regulate building temperature.
  • Your roof is now completely weatherproofed – no more leaks or other maintenance repairs.
  • It’s fire resistant.
  • Added structural strength to your building without adding a noticeable amount of weight.
  • The foam acts as a natural sound reducer as well.
  • This will correct any pre-existing roofing failures such as poor drainage.
  • You avoid a full roof-replacement. Our foam sprays preserve existing roofs that don’t need to be removed yet.
  • Once they’re been applied, SPF roofing systems are easy to maintain for decades to come.

The Science of Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) Roofing Systems

Foam-Roof-Repair–OhioSPF systems are constructed by mixing a two-component liquid – isocyanate and polylol. This mixture is then sprayed onto the pre-existing roof substrate to form the base of an adhered roof system. That’s the first phase: SPF insulation. We spray this insulation and inch and half thick, resulting in an impressive R-Value of 6.5 per inch.

Next, we add multiple layers of protective surfacing on top of the insulation either with a sprayer or by hand with power rollers. There are two primary protective layers:

1. A base coat on top of to the SPF insulation, and
2. A top layer of an ENERGY STAR® certified and UV protective coating. This is the layer which repels 85% of the sun’s harmful rays.

How a Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) Roofing System Will Save Your Money

  • Avoiding an unnecessary roof replacement. Roof tear-off is an extremely expensive process. Add to that disposal fees and the materials and labor for the new roof and you’re looking at a costly process.
  • The application of our SPF system does not require you to close your business where a roof replacement would.
  • The extra layer of insulation keeps hot air in and cold air out.
  • Conversely, in the hot summer, the white finish reflects sunlight which heats your building. These last two combine for massive energy savings.

Get peace of mind with a safe, sturdy roof — and save money in energy costs and repairs for years to come.
